Do's and Don'ts for before and after treatment

The area to be treated must be clean and free from all topical solutions. Please shave the area 2-12 hours prior to treatment. Avoid direct sun exposure to the area being treated for at least 3 days prior to treatment. I cannot treat sensitive, newly tanned or sunburned skin. You must avoid Plucking, waxing or bleaching the hair 4 weeks prior to treatment, and you must only remove hair by shaving in between treatments. Please do not use essential oils 48 hrs prior to treatment.

If you have a history of cold sores, you may take your usual medication 5 days before and 5 days after treatment.

If you have been on antibiotics, I ask that you leave 2 weeks  between finishing the course, and having SMARTdiode treatment.

In the unlikely event that you experience any redness or swelling after your treatment, apply a soothing lotion such as aloe vera or a cool pack at home if required.

I advise that you don't shave or use deodorant/perfumes on the treated area for 24/48 hrs after treatment.

I advise that you avoid very hot baths, saunas, hot tubs/Jacuzzi, massage treatments or athletic activities for 2-3 days after treatment.

Please use a factor 30 plus sunscreen, and avoid direct exposure to sun on the treated area, or sunbeds for at least 4 days post treatment.

If you experience (Rare) itching in the treated area, avoid scratching the skin. You can instead, take an anti histamine such as piriton to alleviate the condition.

I advise not using any skincare that contains Glycolic Acid, Salicylic acid, or rertinoic acid (e.g Retin A) for 3-5 days following treatment.

Lastly, always maintain a good skincare routine with frequent hydration or moisturising on a daily basis.
